Operations
Polyus Gold Corporation is the largest gold mining company in Russia, and conducts mining and exploration work in the gold and placer deposits in Krasnoyarskiy Kray, Irkutsk, Magadan and Amur regions, as well as the Republic of Sakha (Yakutiya).
The leading production division of the company is located in Krasnoyarskiy Krai—Olympiadinskiy; which conducts gold mining in the deposit of Olympiada one of the largest in Russia.
The R&R of the company in Krasnoyarsk is comprised of the deposits of Blagodatnoye, Titimukhta, Tiradinskoye, Olenii, as well as Panimba, Ziryanovsk and Razdolninskoye.
In the Irkutsk region, Polyus Gold is developing the gold deposits of Zapadnoye, Verninskoye, Pervenets and Chertovo Korito, Mukodenskiy in the Mamsko-Chui region. The ore is processed in the Zapadniy factory. The company is also developing 94 placer deposits in the basins of rivers Vitim, Zhuya, Bolshoi and Maliy Patom.
In the Magadansk Region the company is developing the Natalka deposit, one of the largest in Russia. Currently, geological exploration works are being carried out there. The construction of an ore-processing complex is in the works with an annual capacity of 30 tons. Exploration works are also planned for Degdekan ore field and Vostochnaya area.
In the Republic of Sakha (Yakutiya), Polyus Gold is developing three licensed areas—Kuranahskiy ore field, and the deposits of Nazhdaninskiy and Kyuchus. The R&R there exceed 28 mln ounces under Russian qualifications. Gold mining, at the present time, is only being done on the deposits of Kuranahskiy ore field. In the Amur region, the company is getting ready to conduct geological exploration works at Bamskiy deposits.
