CAF

The charity program “Granatovyy Contest Polyus Gold—CAF” (Program) realized by CAF Russian, together and with the support of “Polyus Gold Corporation”. 

This new, large-scale program is directed towards the development and the support of social initiatives of projects and programs of non-commercial organizations in the regions where Polyus Gold operates. The main mechanism for the implementation of the program is a contest for the projects of non-commercial organizations.  The majority of the financing comes from the cash resources donated by Polyus Gold Corporation towards CAF Russia for the implementation of this Program. 

In 2007—in the city of Magadan and Ten’kinsiy area of Magadan region; city of Bodaibo and Bodaibo area of Irkutsk region; as well as the city of Irkutsk. 

In 2008—in the city of Magadan and Ten’kinsiy area of Magadan region; city of Bodaibo and Bodaibo area of Irkutsk region; the city of Irkutsk, city of Krasnoyarsk and the North-Yenisey area of Krasnoyarsk; city of Yakutsk, city of Neryungri, city of Aldan and Aldan area, in the settlement of Kuranah in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutiya). 

With the means of charity, two important social functions are usually solved:  first, the retention and reproduction of society; and second, the development of the society.  The first includes caring for the homeless, the hungry, the lonely elderly and the abandoned children, the ill and the ones that have fallen dependent due to circumstances outside of their control.  Second—the support of the socially promising initiatives and undertakings, even the partial realization of which, prove to be impossible without the necessary means and support.  In this case, we are dealing with the latter; when charitable aid is build in such a way, that it stimulates and does not weaken the person in need.  The program does not focus on immediate problems, but assists in the social planning of possible solutions to improve the public life.
