Vladimir K. Sovmen

President of CJSC Polyus - Head of Siberian business unit

Born in 1957.

Graduated from Khabarovsk Polytechnic Institute as construction engineer (major - industrial and civil engineering).

Graduated from Krasnoyarsk State University of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold as mining engineer (major - open pit mining).

From 1983 till 1983 he worked in Kabarovsk’s Kraitselinstroi building company as foreman, later as senior foreman.

From 1983 to 1995 worked as Head of construction for Polyus gold mining cooperative.

From 1995 to 2004 he occupied positions of Vice President, General Director, First Vice President of Polyus Gold Mining Company in Krasnoyarsk.

Since 2004 served as First Vice President and Executive Director of CJSC Polyus.

Since 2007 served as General Director of CJSC Polyus.

Since October 2008 serves as President  of CJSC Polyus - Head of Siberian business unit
