Valeri V. Rudakov Member of the Board
Chairman of the Committee for Mining Entrepreneurship of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
Born in 1942.
Graduated from Moscow Mining Institute as mining engineer.
Started his career in Yakutalmaz diamond mining, where he spent 18 years, of which 6 years as its General Director.
From 1983 to 1988 he served as Deputy Minister of Non-ferrous Metallurgy of the USSR, Head of Soyouzzoloto all-union gold production association.
From 1988 to 1991 Valeri Rudakov served as Head of USSR Counsel of Ministers’ Main Directorate for Precious Metals and Diamonds and Glavalmazzoloto association, uniting all gold and diamond mines as well as precious metals refineries, diamond-cutting, and jewelry making enterprises of USSR.
From 1999 to 2002 he headed a number of large precious metals and diamond mining companies, including Almazzoloto Russian Corporation, Saha-Yakutia Diamonds, Eurogold Financial and Industrial Group.
From 1999 to 2002 he served as Deputy Minister of Finances of the Russian Federation and Chief of Gokhran.
Since 2002 Valeri Rudakov serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC Polyus.
In March 2006 Valeri Rudakov was elected to the Board of Directors of OJSC Polys Gold.
Awards: 1980 – Order of the Red Banner for Labor; 1982 – USSR State Prize for developing new kimberlitic pipes mining technology; 1986 – Lenin’s Order.
Academic degrees: Corresponding Member of the Engineering Academy; Member of the Mining Academy; Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
Public activities: Valeri Rudakov chairs a Support Committee for Mining Entrepreneurship in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. |
